Snapshot X can’t capture my screen

macOS requires permission. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording, enable Snapshot X, then quit and reopen the app.

Where are my screenshots and recordings saved?

In the folder shown in Settings (your Downloads folder by default). You can change it any time under Settings → Save Location.

How do I record audio, or pick a specific microphone?

Open Settings → Recording Audio. Turn on “Record microphone” and/or “Record system audio,” and choose your input device from the Microphone menu. You can also mute/unmute the mic live from the recording controls.

The app lives in the menu bar — where’s its window?

Snapshot X is a menu-bar app (no Dock icon). Click its icon in the top-right menu bar to capture, record, or open Settings.

What are the system requirements?

macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are handled by Apple. Request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.
